In this project, the client wanted visitors to gasp upon seeing their backyard.
We wanted to create a cohesive experience, utilizing the same design language from the front of the house all the way to the back while gradually increasing the intensity of the design. We gave the client access to their underground parking, with a pathway that wraps around it leading to the backyard. There, you are welcomed with a depressed seating island - fully surrounded by water, amongst other unique features.
In this project: The client asked for a tropical design.
We know that unique design elements are what generates this "Tropical" vibe, such as: using off-white plaster finishing rather than some form of tiling. We chose an aqua blue color to finish the pool surface in, giving more of a beachy spirit rather than that of a dark ocean. Including as much wood as possible helped us drive the notion of natural materials being used. Most importantly: The planting palette applied was very intentional.
In this project: The client allocated a large budget and gave us artistic freedom to design. The word they used to describe their vision was "Grand".
We went with custom, light concrete tiling (brushed finish) - surrounding a larger-than-appropriate pool to help generate the desired feeling - finished in a dark blue plaster with an infinity edge flowing into the lower tier. Notice the double pool shelfs with one being framed by an extended pergola paired with a rain wall feature.
For this project: The client wanted something simple yet tasteful.
The requirement was a space were the client and her friends can enjoy some outdoor privacy and watch TV. With this prompt, we designed a breeze block wall wrapping around the perimeter of our workspace. We also included a media wall to fully protect the TV from the elements.
In this project: The client requested an outdoor seating space with a TV. They also wanted a kid's pool for their three children including a newborn.
We went with an organic pathway connecting the seating space to the rest of the landscape. This pathway also separated the kid's pool from the adult's pool with a swim up bar. Notice the cantilevering pergola framing the custom accent wall we created. The combination of lighting, planting, and material selection is what brings this site to life.
In this project: We were challenged to design something amazing within a limited space.
The client asked us to create something they can enjoy with their family - who share a common passion for watching movies. We wanted to go with a Brutalist look, leaving a lot of exposed concrete - even on the pavers floating on water. The concrete finish paired with the lighting & planting really elevated this small space. A pergola was also installed to allow for this design to be enjoyed during the daytime.
For this project: We designed the entire landscape (front and the backyard).
The client asked for a unique plant selection in the entrance (Cacti and Succulents) and wanted a small building to be added in the back as a secondary kitchen. They're also golfers and wanted an area where them & their friends could all enjoy their favorite hobby. A beautiful custom-designed water feature was also added to drown out the noise of nearby traffic.
Notice the use of the beautiful white Travertine tile.
